The Rochester Ukrainian Group was originally founded as an association of Ukrainian-American professionals. Members participate in activities that advance their professional growth, promote Ukraine's cultural heritage, and raise the awareness of Ukrainian social and political issues in the Rochester area and abroad. These are pictures from Eugene Lylak's lecture on modern Ukrainian poetry at the Rochester Public Library on April 29th, 2001. Professor Lylak presented a one hour lecture about modern Ukrainian poetry. He also provided an overview of Ukrainian life in the past 100 years. Slides were presented from his trip to Ukraine. Professor Lylak has also prepared a bibliography for English translations of modern Ukrainian literature. This bibliography is currently available at the campus library.
